Generation OM aims to provide scholarships to American Hindu undergraduate students while providing them with tools and activities that support and further their education and understanding of Hinduism and its values. College scholarships will be awarded initially to students based in Central Florida.
Generation OM activities will always be guided by our Mission Statement, and the management will endeavor to provide educational resources and assistance to help students develop a better understanding of their Hindu culture and family values. American Hindu students who receive scholarship grants will also be expected to adhere to the Generation OM Mission statement and become Youth Ambassadors for the organization, taking an active part in our events. They will exemplify a life of peace and harmony with all communities in America, becoming role models for the Hindu community -- showing how to function in "America's Society," while retaining their ethnic Hindu identity and culture.
Scholarships of up to $6,000 are available. We award Generation Om scholarships solely on the basis of merit to the students we feel will inspire the understanding of Hinduism and family values amongst their fellow American citizens. The Board of Directors may, at its discretion, increase the base scholarship amount on compassionate grounds for winning students in financial need. The scholarship is divided into four parts and awarded annually, conditional on upholding the Generation Om requirements.
